"Friends in a Storm" A Frank Dialogue on Europe's Uncertain Future
Panel Discussion
The German-Baltic Future Foundation, "Club 'The House", and YATA Latvia invite you to a panel discussion on 10 April at 18.00 titled "Friends in a Storm: A Frank Dialogue on Europe's Uncertain Future" at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
At a time of profound geopolitical uncertainty, this discussion will bring together two distinguished voices to reflect on the state of European politics today: former President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits and Jürgen Hardt, Member of the German Bundestag and foreign policy spokesperson of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
Drawing on decades of experience at the highest levels of European politics, both speakers will share their perspectives on the pressing challenges facing Europe — the war in Ukraine, the future of European unity, and the growing urgency of a stronger European defence. Central to the conversation will be the German-Latvian partnership, which has long stood as a testament to shared democratic values, mutual security commitments, and a common vision for a stable and sovereign Europe.
The discussion will take place in an open and informal atmosphere, encouraging honest and frank dialogue between the panellists and the audience. Participants will then have the opportunity to ask their own questions and engage directly in the conversation.
