For a peaceful and sustainable coexistence

One vision...

Young people in the Baltic States and Germany are increasingly prepared to face current challenges for peaceful and sustainable coexistence in a democratic Europe.

Two missions

Sustainably strengthening German-Baltic ties

We pursue the expansion of networks of different organizations as a platform for encounters and the search for solutions on the basis of European values such as democracy, the rule of law and human rights.

Central elements are...

...educational work to promote resilient
democracy

... building bridges to learn from each other and strengthen understanding

...Impulses for cultural and linguistic
Exchange

Promoting and connecting tomorrow’s
decision-makers

We pursue targeted support for young adults to facilitate the exchange of experiences and   innovative ideas and promote cooperation across national borders.

Central elements are...

... give young Europeans' ideas a voice

... Strengthening the advocacy of one's own values

... provide tools for engagement and self-efficacy

The roots of the German-Baltic Future Foundation go back to 1956. This year, for the first time, a community of Baltic Germans in Germany began to promote and support educational opportunities for young people with a German-Baltic background who come to Germany or already live there. This year also marks the start of fundraising through the establishment of the Birk Fund to provide interest-free loans to finance educational pathways such as university studies or vocational training.
