Daumantas Katinas

Head

My name is Daumantas. It fills me with great joy to be part of the German-Baltic Future Foundation, because since my childhood I have harboured the desire to teach German, to communicate with young people and to maintain a connection to Germany. In addition to my activities at Vilnius University, in the DAAD Alumni Association and in the German Language Society, the activities of the German-Baltic Future Foundation enrich me and I am grateful to be able to make a contribution to the future.
Gabija Misevičiūtė

Team Member

My name is Gabija and I study German Philology at Vilnius University. The German language and culture have been with me since I was little. German TV - Toggo, Nickelodeon, Kika, travelling to my grandma in Oldenburg, stories about my Prussian grandfather - all these things have sparked my interest and love for Germany. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be in an organisation where both my roots are united.

Indrė Aukštikalnienė

Deputy Head

My name is Indrė. German has been with me for as long as I can remember. Childhood stories about the German part of my family history, great German lessons at school and my German studies at Vilnius University all contributed to this. My professional work in business management and organisation has also always been linked to Germany. I currently also work in the education sector and enjoy working with young people. I like to be active in my free time. Long hikes and cycling tours are my passion.

Team Member

Hello, my name is Ahmed and I am studying German Philology at Vilnius University. I have lived in Germany for more than fifteen years and have been living in Lithuania for seven years, but my interest and love for Germany has never disappeared. I am all the more pleased to have the opportunity to be part of an organisation that connects two countries that are deep in my heart.

Laurita Markevičiūtė-Zakarevičė

Employee

Hello, my name is Laurita. The German language has accompanied me on my academic and professional journey for many years. This has allowed me to gain a wide range of experience in the fields of diplomacy, economics, security, culture and education. Today, I regularly talk to young people about the advantages of learning German, Lithuanian-German relations and career opportunities. I place great emphasis on concrete examples – from companies and investments to education and exchange opportunities. I really enjoy working with young people, especially when I succeed in sparking their interest in the German language and the future prospects it offers, as well as expanding their knowledge.

Moin! My name is Laura and I study German philology at Vilnius University. My enthusiasm for the German language and culture began with my first trip to Berlin in sixth grade. What was then just a dream -speaking German - is now part of my everyday life. My studies have further strengthened my interest in Germany and given me the opportunity to work in an organization that connects two countries that are important to me.

Photo Competition "Spuren"
Discover German Traces!

‘Spuren’ is the name of our photo competition, which highlights the diverse traces of the German language in Lithuania. Whether on street signs, in shops or in culture, German traces often shape the environment unconsciously. Your task: discover, photograph, describe – and share them with the public!
