Looking back at the opening ceremony of the German-Baltic Conference 2024

On 24 October 2024, the Baltic-German Conference was officially opened in the impressive Aula Parva of Vilnius University. The historical backdrop emphasised the importance of this event, which also brought together high-ranking representatives from politics, science and the military to make a contribution.


Speakers included Thomas von Lüpke, Chairman of the German-Baltic Future Foundation, the then Lithuanian Minister of Defence Laurynas Kasčiūnas and Saulius Olencevičius, who spoke on behalf of President Gitanas Nausėda. Dr Cornelius Zimmermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Lithuania, Professor Rimvydas Petrauskas, Rector of Vilnius University, and Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart also contributed to the successful start of the conference with inspiring speeches.


The festive atmosphere, characterised by the impressive architecture of the Aula Parva, created the perfect setting for this special event.
